niagara-on-the lake

As I mentioned before, Niagara Falls is great for what it is, but after a while it's nice to get out of town and do some exploring. We headed about a half hour outside of the city to the quaintest little place in wine-country called Niagara-on-the-Lake. It was a Hamptons-esque setting, located between Lake Ontairo and numerous vineyards. The restaurants were fun, the flowers on the street were abundant and lovely, and there was a place to stop for dessert on every corner. Plus, they had a playground. We had so much fun the first night, we decided to go back again the next night!
So, what's it like to be in a super-charming place while trying to control the unsophisticated tendencies of three young gentlemen-in-training? Glad you asked!

Here's Andy, freezing. So cold, he can't carry on any conversation that doesn't involve him saying how cold he is.
Why so cold, you ask? He spiked a 102 fever, of course. 

But he rallied, especially when it was time for dessert! His choice? Blueberry muffin from the bakery (both nights).

Rowan was exhausted by the time we got back to the hotel. He fell asleep during the car ride home and was down for the night!

Once we made it to Niagara Falls, it was all-falls all-the-time. Wherever you go, whatever you do, the town is set up to give you a different viewing experience of the falls. To be honest, the best view was right from our hotel room, which was located on the 22nd floor. It was hard to beat. So, without further hesitation, I bring you 35 pictures in every angle of:

Pictures from the museum, comin' atcha. Cute place. Lots for the kids to interact with. A lot of toys are "retro" - aka things Tom and I played with as kids. You know, relics of earlier times. Soooo. . . nothing like taking your kids to a museum to make you feel super-old, right?

This little grocery store was one of my favorite parts of the whole museum. The kids got to "shop" for groceries. Then they had to "checkout" and got a receipt for their purchase!

Check out this little beauty. Our first computer is now in a museum. Behind glass. Like the spear heads and wampum found in ancient caves at the museum of natural history.
