For the second year in a row, Rowan has touched and/or hit George, the elf. George is currently back up at the North Pole in the ECU (Elf Care Unit). We are sending him thoughts of syrup, marshmallows, and confectioner's sugar for strength and recovery.
Rowan has yet to show any signs of remorse.
I guess Rowan's relationship with George has always had a long history of skepticism and antagonism.
But I am on a mission to make a believer of him yet. I definitely have my work cut out for me.

back for more.
Rowan's back at school this morning. I'm just standing here waiting for the phone to ring with the news that he pooped his pants! Let's hope he does a little bit better today. Fingers crossed.
Have a happy weekend!

does this look familiar?
Are you starting to recognize the inside of our doctor's office just from the number of times you've seen it on here? Yep, we were back again this morning. And we were the talk of the office! As we walked through the halls the nurses all asked us, "Are you the bite?" "Is this the bite?" Shamefully I nodded yes, yes we are "the bite." One of my children is an animal, and one is a piece of meat.
Here's the meat. If you can call him that. I mean, he's pretty scrawny. If he had gone for Henry, at least I could understand it.
And he ate every. last. bite.
And then there's this guy. The doctor called it a "Classic Case of Middle Child Syndrome."
So, he got some special one-on-one time with Mommy today, too. We went for a walk to look at all of the pickup trucks in the neighborhood.
And we went to the playground for a long time, where he chose to play on the toy that could have been in our backyard.
And everyone lived happily ever after.

So, by now, you're probably figuring it out. Rowan bit Andy. But not only was it a bite. It was a bite that broke the skin. The kind that requires a doctor's visit. Are you kidding me???? Andy looks all smiles here, but between his flair for the dramatic, and the fact that it probably did hurt quite a bit, there was much histrionics that spanned over the course of an hour.
I took him to a "special" lunch to reward him for the trauma he endured. We went to Dunkin' Donuts, and he got to pick whatever donut he wanted. And sure enough, he picked the grossest, stickiest, most unhealthy looking one he could find.
And he ate every. last. bite.

the depths of despair.
Today I had to wake Rowan up from a nap so that we could go pick Andy up from school. He was really sleeping soundly and was surprisingly pleasant, all things considered.
At first.
Then we came downstairs, where I discovered Henry had pooped. . . I mean POOPED. . . and by the time I got him all cleaned up and changed, we were running late. So, I put Henry's jacket on and I put Rowan's jacket on and all hell broke loose.
It turned out Rowan didnt want me to put his jacket on. He wanted to put it on himself. So, while I was putting Henry into the car, Rowan undressed himself and threw his hat and coat on the floor. At this point I was late. If I waited for him to put his coat back on, we'd be really late. As it was, I wound up getting severely reprimanded by Andy when I got to school. I could just imagine what would have happened if I had waited. So, I thought I'd rush and to try to make up some time. I scooped up Rowan without his jacket, strapped him in the car, and headed off to school.
And Rowan did this.

First of all, he took off his carseat straps. They were loose, since he didn't have a coat on.

Here he's just staring at me. Daring me to take another photo.

Which I did.

He refused to look at or talk to Andy when he got in the car.
